The all-rounder for versatile cooking. From burgers and minced roasts to Bolognese sauce or cabbage rolls, there are no limits to your imagination when cooking. Minced meat from Fitmeat does not release any water when roasted, but can be roasted beautifully. The flavour is pleasant, not too intense and not too weak.
Meat knowledge
Mixed minced meat is made from the trimmings left over when the beef and pork pieces are packaged. These pieces are finely minced and lightly seasoned to mask the inherent flavour. The result is a characteristically fine flavour with a balanced fat content.
Mixed minced pork & beef
Mixed minced meat is a wonderful basic product that should be in every kitchen. Cevapcici, burgers, pasta dishes, stuffed peppers or lasagne - the list of possible dishes is endless! And your mouth is probably already watering, isn't it?
It has a wonderful flavour of its own, which gives dishes that extra kick, but doesn't overpower them. This leaves all the options open when it comes to seasoning.
Why buy mince from Fitmeat?
Compared to other suppliers, the mince is not gassed. What does this mean? It is prepared absolutely fresh and is therefore not watery. The colour is also more natural than in the supermarket.
Butchers often take a different approach to meat sold in supermarkets. Because of the long transport time, the meat cannot be prepared as fresh as it should be. The bright red colour of minced meat is unnatural.
This is because the meat is treated with a gas mixture (CO₂). The chemical treatment prevents the natural colouring, but does not make the meat last longer.
The use of oxygen in the packaging of meat accelerates fat oxidation during refrigeration. This can make the meat tough and rancid. The loss of quality is particularly pronounced if the meat has been frozen.
In addition, this process causes the meat to brown more quickly, but it is not fully cooked. This makes it difficult for the consumer to determine whether the meat has reached the ideal degree of doneness.
That is why we rely on meat from small farmers!
Meat from supermarkets and discounters often comes from so-called fast-fattening farms. This means the animals are grown as fast as possible. However, this means that the muscles cannot retain water, which is then released during cooking, causing the meat to 'shrink'. At Fitmeat we do not use these methods for many reasons.
The shelf life is slightly shorter at 2-3 days, but this is the only way we can guarantee maximum freshness and quality. If it is not needed immediately, it can be frozen beautifully.
Because of our high quality standards and the stress-free and respectful treatment of the animals (from breeding to slaughter), our meat tastes fabulously delicious and does not lose water when browned. Thanks to our natural and thoughtful approach, the mince can also be frozen wonderfully without losing its quality.
Our tip: "divide" the sealed vacuum bag with a wooden spoon - this way you can only take out one part at a time when it is frozen, as it is not a frozen "lump" but can be divided into several pieces at once.
Quantity per person
We recommend one kilogram of mixed mince for three to four people.
Herkunft und Haltung
Pigs are extremely intelligent and clean animals. Therefore, species-appropriate and caring rearing is the be-all and end-all for us. A requirement that is also reflected in the delicious taste.
If you compare pigs from factory farms, for example, one thing is immediately clear: due to the constant stress, the meat is much firmer, loses a lot of water when roasted and hardly has any flavour of its own.
For us at Fitmeat, this type of rearing is out of the question for many reasons. We fight for animal welfare and the appreciation of meat products and strictly distance ourselves from immoral factory farming.
After careful and stress-free individual slaughtering of the pigs, our butchers allow the straw pigs to mature on the bone for a few days. The result is juicy and tender pieces of pork with a wonderful meat flavour.
